Full Description

MindLabs Discovery Bundle - Light & Sound + Habitats & Adaptations

The Discovery Bundle gives students a rich, hands-on way to explore how the world works across physical and life science. Through design-driven challenges and augmented reality experiences, learners investigate how waves, environments, structures, and behaviors shape what we see, hear, and observe in nature.

Students explore physical science concepts by designing and testing a stage set using lights, speakers, spotlights, and controls, guided by Echo. As they build and revise their designs, they investigate how light and sound waves travel, reflect, absorb, and communicate information.

Learners then shift into life science, building animals and testing how traits and behaviors help them survive in different habitats and environmental conditions.

Across both experiences, students learn by doing. They test ideas, make design choices, observe outcomes, and iterate based on evidence. The process builds systems thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving while strengthening core science understanding.

MindLabs’ integrated digital notebook captures student thinking, designs, and reflections in real time, giving educators meaningful insight into how students reason, explain, and apply what they learn. The Discovery Bundle is flexible enough for classrooms, after-school programs, museums, and camps, and is designed to keep setup simple while maximizing engagement and depth of learning.

Delta

Meet Delta, a fearless biologist with an unstoppable curiosity for how plants and animals survive and thrive in their environments. From rainforests to deserts, she studies the delicate balance of ecosystems, and what happens when that balance is broken.

But not everyone shares her respect for nature. Dr. Stonebreaker is determined to clear forests, drain wetlands, and reshape the world for his own gain. Delta knows that every action has consequences, and she’s using science to prove it.

In this Habitats and Adaptations unit, students join Delta’s mission to investigate how organisms meet their needs in different environments, and how changes to those environments affect survival. Through hands-on experiments, AR exploration, and evidence-based inquiry, students think and act like scientists as they uncover how living things adapt and depend on one another.

Each lesson builds observation, analysis, and critical-thinking skills while connecting science to real-world challenges. Teachers love how Delta’s story helps students see themselves as problem solvers, capable of using knowledge to protect the world around them.
